to the world!!!
What kind of place is Tsubame City where MT-torimatsu is located?
Tsubame City is one of Japan’s leading centers of metal composite processing technology, and boasts 95% of Japan’s total production of metal western tableware (spoon, fork, knife), and is one of the leading producers of kitchen utensils for home and commercial use.
What has made this possible is our 400-year history and reliable technology.
The entire city of Tsubame is like one giant company, and its greatest strength is its “division of labor” system, in which many business offices are organically connected.
In recent years, the country has become famous for the excellent metal processing technology possessed by small and medium-sized enterprises, and at the same time, 70% of the employed population is engaged in the metal processing industry.
History of Tsubame, the city of metal industry
Hundreds of years ago, Tsubame City suffered from frequent floods caused by the nearby river, making it difficult to grow rice. The industry was encouraged to make Japanese nails as a side job for farmers in need, and merchants from the neighboring city of Sanjo expanded their sales channels to Tokyo, making it a major producer of Japanese nails. However, the effects of civilization and enlightenment gradually began to appear, and around this time, various daily necessities used at home were replaced with imported products, and the metal products that Tsubame City had produced up until then were shut out of the market, and Tsubame City found itself in a difficult situation. It became a thing. Then, a new order comes to Tsubame City from Tokyo. A request was made to produce metal Western tableware to be used at a banquet. As a result, many craftsmen turned to spoon manufacturing, laying the groundwork for the mass production and export industry that continues into the present day. Since then, we have overcome the turmoil of many eras and created products by processing various materials based on outstanding technology. Tsubame City has now become a mecca for the world’s metal processing industry.
